Peru Philatelic Study Circle
The first coil stamps of the world

1 Dinero rose printed in Lima in 1862 on horizontal strips of paper.
On cover, from HUANCAVELICA to LIMA, double rate certified, April 12, 1867

Notice a total of 8 star postmarks [3 on each lateral side plus 2, one on the upper and
lower middle], this practice was used to indicate the "certification status" of the mail
during handling, additionally a second "Certification" mark emphasises the status of
this letter.  The CDS cancel indicates the day the letter was certified, and to cancel
the stamps, a circle dot matrix  marking with the town name in the middle was used
to cancel the 7 stamps.    Quite elaborated job to highlight the certification status.
