Thus, we have the unusual story of this thrice-used set of stamps printed by the American Bank Note Company for Peru, but first issued by Chile in 1881; and when the remnant of the unsold stamps was given back to Peru, it was used for two different issues exactly eleven years apart, in 1883 and 1894.
